2012 - The Year of No Travel?

Oh to be a jellyfish.
Friends from the Newport Aquarium
I've just returned home to Mendocino after a great long, but short, visit with my children and grandchildren.  I didn't get to meet with all the people I usually do since I didn't have my own transportation. But I met with and enjoyed everyone who contacted me while I was in Cincinnati area.  Thank you all for hauling me and my luggage around town.

Finally I'm 10 and my ears are pierced!

I had intended to stop writing the blog at the end of 2011 since travel has abated.  But I've decided that blogging is my connection with family and the outside world, so I'll continue to write about absolutely nothing just to hear myself talk and enjoy the occasional response.

So now it's several weeks into 2012, Caroline finally got her ears pierced, and I wonder what else may come in this year of much expectation.  For me, personally, it feels strange not to be planning a trip or embarking upon one as I have done for the last two years.  Strange but right.

2012 - the year of no travel.  The year of staying put here in a bubble on the edge of the earth.  Well, no.  Let me qualify that statement.  Let's just say, it's the year of staying put until Spirit moves me to move again.  And there IS still the small matter of a storage bin full of furniture in Boulder that needs to be addressed at some point.  But will it be this year?
That's a thought for tomorrow.  For today I'm happy to be exactly where I am.

In Mendocino with the wind howling and the rain pounding.  I'm just grateful it's not snow.

How are things in Bellingham, Brent?
